Podnik ČSAD Tišnov vznikl v dubnu 1990 vyčleněním provozovny Tišnov z podniku ČSAD Rosice a stal se dopravním závodem 618 krajského národního podniku Československá státní automobilová doprava Brno. Národní podnik ČSAD Brno byl v roce 1988 transformován na státní podnik.

V roce 1991 vznikl samostatný státní podnik Československá automobilová doprava Tišnov, který byl v roce 1994 transformován na společnost s ručením omezeným.
